This winter, we had a family trip to Arabia and Mumbai.
It was supposed to include an annular eclipse on the way between Oman and Mumbai, but the
boat didn't sail exactly along the eclipse path so we only saw an 85% eclipse (pics to follow).
While the annular eclipse was a bit disappointing, during an equipment test the day before the
eclipse, I was able to get sunrise images with the rare green flash phenomenon.
I've only seen this once before but this time I had a camera. The green flash can be
seen within 1-2 min of sunrise or sunset when the atmospheric conditions are perfect.
The first image was taken as the sun broke on the horizon.

This pic shows when the sun had fully risen. A tinge of green can be seen at the top.

Below
are links to pics taken in Arabia prior to the recent discord in Iran. Today, boats are
likely accompanied with military escorts.

Gear: For this trip, I took my micro4/3 gear: Olympus
OMD EM-1 MarkII and Olympus M1X bodies with 3 Olympus lenses (40-150/F2.8, 300mm/F4, 12-100/F4)
and the PanasonicLeica 8-18mm/F2.8-4 lens. In addition to the Olympus 1.4x and 2x extenders,
a solar filter and travel tripod were also packed. Unexpectedly, the 2x extender proved useful for the
head shots of animals on Sir Baniyas Island.
