Equipment: Canon 600mm IS F4 verII and 1.4x verIII extender on Canon 1D Mark IV.

Airborne shots were taken handheld and most small birds taken with monopod, except for the bluejay in the first pic, which was also handheld.



This hummingbird's colors changes with the angle of the illumination. I wasn't able to get any shots of the hummer in flight. The 70-200 or 100-400 lens may have been able to track it, but they were in the car.









As i was leaving for the day, this hawk flew by in the distance; about 1/5 crop.





Not sure of the species, but this bird was quite friendly; it allowed me within 30 feet.
