The Oct 15, 2005 ALMS race at Laguna Seca was a ~4hr race. The attendance was pretty good since the Corkscrew hill was largely filled with spectators. It took some maneuvering to get into the best positions. Most shots were taken with either the Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS & 100-400 f4-5.6 IS lenses (on separate 20D's). Some shots were taken with the Canon 135 f2; especially when the light was dimming. All paddock shots were taken with the Tamron 17-35 f2.8-4.

Miscellaneous shots:

Last minute pre-race prep; gotta make the berms look pretty for the TV cams. BTW, i was amused by the fact that this was done after some apparent celebrity laps by a couple of pace cars- including a race-truck. During the noon break, they evidently had parade laps for $25. I didn't see CED:-)

Shots from the paddock.

From Aston-Martin:

From Penske who kept things under wraps most of the time:

Various race shots:

I like the reflection of 'Porsche' on the side-pod.

Nice C6 race car:

Spectators liked the new Porsche.

The Maserati was an eye-catcher, but the paint job is rather dull.

British Racing Green Aston-Martin appealed to many.

Too bad the Saleen didn't finish.

A little contact.

Dusk & nite shots.

Some pretty interesting light effects.

Interesting reflective paint for so many decals.
