After installation of the Sector111 AluminDiffuser

Here's the original Sector111 AluminDiffuser (S111 picture). Green box outlines the mounting tabs that didn't fit my 2005 Elise

When mounted on the Sector111 Eliminator v3, the tab sits too high, and points to the back of the car - away from the factory mounting point on the rear clam (you can see the C-clip on the clam just behind the black diffuser tab.

The solution was to remove the tabs (drilled out the rivets). I then carefully measured where to drill a new mounting on the sides of the outer vanes. The green arrow marks the spot. The diffuser is now properly attached to the car at the stock mounting points. Note, the slight bowing of the diffuser is an artifact of using a wide-angle lens too close to the car. (no, the exhaust tip does not touch the diffuser).

A fabricated bushing was made from ABS plastic and the bolt inserted through it, and screwed into the C-clip. The yellow vertical lines will be explained in the next picture

In addition to mounting the diffuser, i blocked off the rear wheel wells with .04" ABS plastic (rated to 175 F). These will be used as templates for replacement aluminum parts if they prove impractical. The plastic sheets were mounted with some slack so a slight bulge will accomodate the 2" suspension droop (stock LSS suspension). The yellow lines in the above picture mark the boundaries of the plastic sheet as seen from the back of the car.

The rationale for the C-clips on the ABS plastic was to enable adjustability for the suspension drrop and to enable removal of the diffuser independent of the mid-underpanel.

Here are the unmounted plastic sheets with the C-clips attached.

No, my Larini 8" exhaust tip doesn't touch the diffuser, but its close. I will probably have to adjust the exhaust and possibly and possibly cut a relief half-circle in the diffuser

Finished side shot.

The combination of the diffuser and blocking the rear wheel wells makes the car more stable at speed when going over crests; track testing to follow.
